'Lantern Festival' by Nathaniel Mundia

Like so many Chinese traditions, Chinese lanterns have a long history dating back thousands of years playing a significant part in times of celebrations. The Chinese New Year is the festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar, and celebrations culminate with the Lantern Festival, held on the 15th day of the year. The first day of Chinese New Year begins on the new moon that appears between 21 January and 20 February.

This art piece now in a greeting card form is not exclusive for the Chinese New Year. With the lanterns depicted with exotic birds and cherry blossoms, it is a beautiful design for any occasion left blank inside for your personal message.
