This merry scene of garden birds is both delightful and delicate, with the Nathaniel's use of contrasting hues.
18th-century chinoiserie drew on the exotic preconceptions about China, which then seemed a mysterious faraway place.  Objects featured fantastic landscapes with fanciful pavilions, sweeping lines of the roofs of Chinese pagodas, fabulous birds and figures in Chinese clothes. Sometimes these figures were copied directly from Chinese objects, but more frequently they originated in the designer's imagination.
 
Packed as a set of 5, these lovely notecards come with merigold envelopes.
